Hoya takes Root

Hoya Roots

This plant was put into some willow rooting hormone September 15th. Less than 10 days for some roots to show. I am extremely happy with this plant right now. Hopefully by the end of this week, it will go into it’s own pot.

Temps: Spring & Summer give them 50 degrees to warmer temps and during the winter let them cool off a little below 50 degrees to allow them to go semi-dormant.

Water: Spring & Summer keep the soil moist and during the winter, let them dry but not to the point of shriveled foliage. When the plant is budding or in flower do NOT mist the foliage.

Soil: Give this plant African Violet mix and add Perlite to get moist, well-drained, light soil.

Fertilizer:A liquid fertilizer given about every four weeks, three or four times during the growing season will result in vigorous growth. Do not fertilize during the winter.

Light: It will do well near a window or under florescent lighting. A north window is it’s preference, and does not require direct light.

Check back in with this one next week!
